Why St. Luke’s? I wanted a program that combined the acuity, variety, and resources of a large institution with a community and family oriented environment

Why St. Luke’s? The attendings were excellent teachers and provided an an environment where I could push the limits of my capabilities. while also feeling comfortable making mistakes. The program is very family-friendly, and showed that they were committed to having families be a part of the program’s experience.

Why St. Luke’s? I did an audition here and had a great time. I truly felt like one giant family. Lots of laughs were had, and I felt like I could be myself. The residents and attendings are incredibly knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. Even as a rotating med student I felt like a member of the team!

Why St. Luke’s? I knew I wanted to be a part of this program before my Sub-I was over. The attendings are some of the smartest and kindest people I met on rotations. The residents are encouraging, well-equipped, and fun to hang out with in the doc box! There was always something new and exciting happening in the Ed and in the community and everyone seemed to truly be friends. Everyone seems to truly be friends, Everyone seems genuinely happy to be a part of this program and I’m happy to be joining.

Why St. Luke’s? I instantly clicked with the previous chief, Julia, during my interview. Everyone I spoke with was so easy to talk to and encouraging, which was important to me to have in leadership.

Nicole Lashiker, DO
Medical School: Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine
Interests: Hockey games, rock climbing, making guac, pilates
Why St. Luke’s? I chose this program because of the people- the kind of people who make you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. There was a warmth in the atmosphere that made it clear this is a place where curiosity is valued, and vulnerability isn’t met without judgment. Here, no question is too small, and it’s okay not to have all the answers.

Why St. Luke’s? This was my last interview and it changed everything- I’ve never felt so at home anywhere, had a great time during my interview day, and I loved the program breakdown and the people! I also really love Bethlehem and am grateful every day that I ended up here!

Sean Smith, DO

Why St. Luke’s? My mentor during med school loved his device as a resident at St. Luke’s, so I had to check it out. During my audition, it was instantly noticeable how comfortable and content the residents were. After spending a few short weeks here, it was easy to see why: everybody is generally interested in my growth and development. They want my success because it’s their success too.

Gabe Herman, DO
Medical School: Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Why St. Luke’s? I did an audition here and loved with the faculty and residents. I especially liked how the faculty loved to teach and how the residents were highly knowledgeable and also patient to listen to students and educate them

Why St. Luke’s? Welcoming and chill environment. Every attending loves to teach and no one will yell at you or judge you. It’s an academic hospital with a community ED feel…best of both worlds 🙂
